Mark Ruffalo has dropped a fresh hint about Hulk’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, suggesting Hulk’s partnership with Spider-Man is far from over.
His comments add another layer to the mystery surrounding Bruce Banner’s role in “Avengers: Doomsday,” which directors Joe and Anthony Russo have so far refused to clarify.
Mark Ruffalo Teases Bigger Things Ahead For Hulk And Spider-Man

Mark Ruffalo has hinted that Hulk and Spider-Man could have more adventures together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actor made the revelation in a new behind-the-scenes featurette included in the digital release of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which also stars Tom Holland.
According to GamesRadar+, the featurette, titled “Friends and Foes,” features both actors discussing their experience working together and what their characters’ partnership could mean for the franchise.
“The idea of Hulk and Spider-Man finally meeting up,” Ruffalo said. “It’s iconic and legendary in the comics. And I think the way we do it is really a teaser for what’s to come with these two characters.”
Hulk’s ‘Doomsday’ Mystery Deepens As Russo Brothers Hint At Doctor Doom Link
Joe and Anthony Russo have offered a few clues about Banner’s involvement in “Avengers: Doomsday,” but neither has confirmed whether Ruffalo will appear in the film.
The filmmakers previously revealed that Hulk is connected to the storyline involving Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, although the extent of that involvement remains unclear.
“I think [what] we could say is, [Banner] is certainly involved in the story that revolves around Doom,” Joe said. “We will not confirm nor deny his appearance in Doomsday.”
Anthony added, “The farthest we can go is to say there are characters and actors who have not been announced, who are a part of Doomsday.”
However, a newly added scene in “Avengers: Endgame” has already given fans a stronger clue about Banner’s fate.
Hulk Vanishes In New ‘Endgame’ Scene As Doctor Doom Mystery Deepens

The re-release of “Avengers: Endgame” included four new scenes designed to set up “Doomsday,” with one offering a particularly intriguing glimpse into Banner’s future.
The scene takes place after the events of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and shows Banner living in self-imposed confinement.
An off-screen voice announces it has come to collect him, then a flash of light fills the room. Banner then disappears, leaving behind mysterious green runes.
The visitor has since been identified as Doctor Doom, although the villain’s intentions remain unclear.
The development has also fueled speculation about Spider-Man’s fate, particularly after Peter Parker similarly vanished and reappeared on an unknown planet in the “Brand New Day” post-credits scene.
That raises the possibility that Doom could be gathering multiple superheroes for reasons Marvel hasn’t revealed yet.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Rolls Out Marvel Heavyweights While Hulk Remains A Question, Mark

While Hulk’s involvement remains uncertain, several other familiar Marvel faces are already confirmed to return in “Avengers: Doomsday.” Among them are Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, whose characters were previously written out of the franchise.
Downey Jr. returns in a completely different role, playing Victor von Doom, the magic-and-science villain, rather than Tony Stark, the billionaire tech-mogul playboy.
Chris Evans seems set to play Steve Rogers again, though it remains unclear whether this version will be from a different timeline.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will also return, alongside new characters from Marvel’s other projects, including the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and X-Men.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Is Already Making A Box Office Splash Months Before Release

While Marvel keeps much of the movie’s storyline under wraps, anticipation for “Avengers: Doomsday” is already driving substantial ticket sales ahead of its December release.
Disney CFO Hugh Johnston revealed at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on September 9 that domestic presales had surpassed $50 million.
“We’re three months out from the movie, and we already have $50 million of presales, literally three months out,” Johnston said.
More than 70 percent of those early sales went to Infinity Vision, Disney’s premium large-format presentation, highlighting the demand for the movie’s big-screen experience.
The strong advance sales have raised expectations for another massive Marvel box office performance.
However, “Doomsday” faces a formidable benchmark in “Avengers: Endgame,” which reclaimed the worldwide box office record following its 2026 re-release, bringing its lifetime earnings to approximately $2.93 billion.
