Czech testing finds Salmonella problem in poultry meat

Enhanced testing of poultry meat for Salmonella in the Czech Republic has found the pathogen in a quarter of samples.

The State Veterinary Administration (SVS) stepped up inspections targeting the presence of Salmonella in imported poultry meat at the end of July.

In total, 93 samples of imported poultry products were tested for Salmonella, and the bacteria was confirmed in 23 samples.
