Meghan Markle may have an unexpected A-list ally in her corner as she navigates their latest round of royal family drama.

The Duchess of Sussex returned to the U.K. with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Now that the family is settled into their new home in the Cotswolds, Meghan has reportedly been confiding in her Hollywood neighbor, Ellen DeGeneres, according to Star magazine.

The duo was spotted by Page Six on September 21 at the Three Horseshoes near Burford, Oxfordshire, with DeGeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi. The comedian has been supportive when it comes to the ongoing royal family feud, which she reportedly finds “disgusting,” according to a Star magazine source.

Meghan feels like Prince William and Kate Middleton are “freezing her out,” even though she and Harry have extended the olive branch to broker peace.

DeGeneres has reportedly been encouraging the Duchess of Sussex not to let the family rift get her down.

“Ellen totally understands why Meghan would want to throw in the towel,” the insider said while noting that DeGeneres and de Rossi “had a very hard time adjusting to England” when they moved in 2024. “But they stayed the course, and now they’re very happy with their new life, and she’s convinced that if Meghan can hang in there, the same thing will happen for her.”

Even though the Sussexes have been in the U.K. for over a month, they have yet to see King Charles, per Hello! There has been a phone conversation during their first week back, but otherwise, the royal family has not welcomed them with open arms.

The monarch issued a letter on September 7 that laid out the royal rules for the press upon the Sussexes’ return.

“Following the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relocate to the UK, we have received a number of requests for Guidance. To help avoid doubt or confusion, The King has directed that the following information be shared,” the press release reads, via People.

“It is well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family,” the statement continued while reminding the public that “there is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and their styles as His and Her Royal Highness remain in abeyance and are not used.”

With the royal family keeping up their less-than-warm ways, it’s good for Meghan to have a friend in her corner as she adjusts back to life in the U.K.
